The War Hounds.

He doubted this one, as any investigator with a good head on top of his shoulders must first doubt an unknown variable in a pattern of familiar things. It did not help, of course, that the Sin-Eater was getting close to his son at a phenomenal rate. He understands now, though, that he was wrong. This boy and the possibilities he offers for the singular person who matters the most in Tohru's life is not somebody that he has to be wary of.
sin-eater | blade leader of the war hounds

yulia bostova
This one's silence, for Tohru, did nothing but emphasize the turbulence within her soul. He never doubted her skills (he never had to), but never worried about her either: his son was fond of her. Furthermore, at the moment, it looks as though she has finally started to seek out the light.
bladian | blade second of the war hounds

The son whom his wife had never borne from him, and the child that would never be his flesh and blood because their souls were kin all on their own. Redemption has been a long process for Tohru, and helping a Mage like himself had simply been something that one such as himself had to do. It goes much deeper than that now, with this one. He is looking forward to many a year with Heraclitus by his side, helping him watch over the ones who matter to them both.
obrimos mage | oldest son, returned prodigal

brigade
This one dared to try and crossed only too many lines in the past: that was why Tohru had found himself distrusting him, at first, and then outright disliking him regardless of what An'yu or his own son had to say on the matter. The Vigil had layers and boundaries that had to be respected, and Brigade did not appear to have any respect for them at all. Recent events have revised the Assassin's opinion of him rather significantly, though. It has also reminded him of the blind hatred that he used to feel for Alistair Mordechai, something that was ultimately grounded upon shallow reasons.
promethean | a future warden

brianna lopez
He blames himself for bringing his guard down, for thinking that this girl was made of the same, stern stuff that the Key was, or the Pied Piper, much less believing that she might stay and might be able to help in place of her compromised "sisters". There is no one else to put any fault with, really: he had simply bet on the wrong horse.
changeling {fairest} | the third, recently departed

kaz zobel de ayala
He still believes that his readiness to put a bullet through the forehead of this boy was a valid concern: the Wings had been dangerous, then, and not anything like how they are now. The boy was (and maybe still is) a cautionary tale waiting to happen, a walking allegory on power and hubris. The others appear to be watching him, though. Perhaps that means that Tohru can afford to turn a blind eye.
